Is the BMW Z3 collectible?
The Z3 was the first vehicle BMW manufactured in the U.S. at its South Carolina factory. The Z3 roadster is collectible enough for that reason. But the coupe version, as well as the M Coupe performance version, is highly desirable.
Are BMW Z3 expensive to maintain?
Z3’s are great cars imo – which is why I own and have owned so many. They are reliable, cheap to maintain when parts do break (E36s are pretty much the cheapest BMW to maintain), fast, look great and the dynamics of the car are phenomenal. Not at all an expensive car to own if you do the work.
How many Z3 M Roadsters were made?
Z3 M Roadster
The appearance of the Z3 M was not changed. In the 6 years from 1997 to 2002, 15,322 M Roadsters were produced. The M roadster is electronically limited to a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). The kerb weight is 1,420 kg (3,130.6 lb).
Is the BMW Z3 a good car?
The BMW Z3 is a handsome two-seat convertible that sells quickly, even at high prices. The most popular 1.9-litre engine found in most Z3s isn’t sports car-quick, but it suits the car well enough. The 2.8- and 3.2-litre units are much more powerful, but they show up the limitations of the chassis only too obviously.
Will BMW Z3 increase in value?
The Z3 that are going to increase in value are the 2.8 and 3.0 models, but even then, they’ll only go up if the miles are kept down and even then, only if the car is constantly babied, which isn’t the point of a Z3. A Z3 is a car to buy, drive and enjoy. The Z3 isn’t one.
Which BMW Z3 is best?
If I was to recommend a Z3 model I’d probably say 2.0 – if you want economy and one of the smoothest 6 cylinder engines in the world. If you want performance without ///M running costs, then go for the 2.8 or the brilliant 3.0. Z3s are all good and will put smiles on your face.
Why are Z3 so cheap?
They’re cheap because they’re like every other car on the road–they aren’t particularly special. It’s the same reason you can buy an older miata for very little money. Having said that, the car being linked to seems way to pricey for what it is.

Are BMW M cars hand built?
M division models like the M1, E30 M3, and E28 M5 were all hand–built, low-production models that are considered classics by today’s standards. Now that M cars are built by machines, these old models are desirable. Don’t expect one of these cars to be a maintenance-free experience, but used prices are very reasonable.
